New Practitioners, please share this with student pharmacists who may be interested! Tell them about ENGAGE, and how they will have the opportunity to learn and connect with new practitioners on this forum.

Are you interested in applying for a pharmacy fellowship? Have you started the process? Here is a quick summary of what to expect when applying for fellowship positions.

     August-Early September:

    • Research company websites for information, create a list of programs you are interested in
    • Create a CV, find individuals to write strong letters of recommendation, write a cover letter/letter of intent
    • Apply as soon as possible (Some applications open mid-September)

    Mid-September – November:

    • Apply to fellowship programs of interest
    • Soon after submitting your applications, keep an eye out for interview offers
    • Expect to complete 1-3 rounds of interviews

    December-January:

    • Finish up final rounds of interviews (You may need to travel to ASHP Midyear for the interview)
    • Programs send out fellowship offers

    Good luck!

What are your thoughts on the fellowship application process versus the residency application process?

Thanks for the information, Michelle! I was curious to see if the companies offering fellowships have open houses like most residency programs do? Can anyone provide any information that might be helpful for those seeking fellowships in a virtual environment?

For those seeking fellowship opportunities in a virtual environment, I heard IPhO is a good resource for those seeking fellowship positions.  I also heard that LinkedIn has been helpful with connecting with current fellows and industry professionals.  Many companies share their fellowship program brochures on LinkedIn as well as on the website of the university they are affiliated with.
